Getting started with Repyra in five minutes
Set up Repyra from a blank account to your first workout: the onboarding questions, where your calorie and protein targets come from, and the Today tab.

Key takeaways
- Onboarding takes eleven questions and your targets are calculated from them, not guessed.
- The Today tab is your home: streak, macro tiles, and one session card with Start.
- You do not need to understand everything on day one. Do the session, log one meal, tap Water.
I built Repyra for the person I was at 22: a gym membership, no trainer, and no idea whether I was doing enough. This post walks you through the first five minutes, from signing up to finishing your first session. Nothing here needs a prior fitness background.
Step 1: create an account
Open the site in your phone browser and tap Sign up. You need an email and a password of at least 8 characters with both letters and numbers. Your login lasts 30 days on that device, so you will not be typing the password every morning.
If you want the app on your home screen like a normal app, you can do that at any point. I cover it in a separate post, but short version: Android Chrome has Install app in the menu, iPhone Safari has Add to Home Screen under Share.
Step 2: answer the onboarding questions honestly
Onboarding asks eleven things, in this order:
- Name
- Age
- Height
- Weight
- Sex
- Goal: fat loss, muscle, or recomposition
- Focus (which area you want the plan to lean toward)
- Days per week you can realistically train
- Diet
- Injuries
- Notes
Two of these deserve a comment. Days per week is the one people overstate. If you pick 5 and show up 3 times, the plan keeps adapting to skipped days, but your weekly score will look worse than it needs to. Pick 3 and raise it later.
Injuries and Notes feed straight into the Coach tab, so if your knee complains on deep squats, write that. The plan and the chat both see it.
Where the numbers come from
After onboarding you get targets for calories, protein, carbs, fat and water. These come from the Mifflin-St Jeor formula, which estimates how much energy your body uses from your age, height, weight and sex. The result is then adjusted for your goal, lower for fat loss and higher for muscle.
Protein is set at roughly 2 g per kg of body weight. A 70 kg person gets about 140 g per day. That number surprises most Indian beginners because a typical dal-rice-roti day lands closer to 50 or 60 g. Hitting it is the single biggest change most people make, and the Food tab exists mainly to make that visible.
You can edit any target later from Profile, then Targets. I would not touch them in the first two weeks. Let the formula be the baseline, then adjust from what the weight log tells you.
Step 3: read the Today tab
Today is the screen you will open most. Top to bottom it shows:
- Streak badge: how many days in a row you have done something in the app.
- Macro tiles: calories, protein, carbs, fat and water for today versus your targets. Tap the Water tile and it adds 250 ml, about one glass.
- Session card: today's focus, a line like "6 exercises · 18 sets · 45 minutes", a ring showing sets done, and a Start button.
- Below the card, collapsible Warm-up, Workout, Cardio and Cool-down sections with done counts.
There is also a regenerate button on the session card and a row of feeling chips: good, ok, tired, sore. Tap sore before you start and the plan backs off the muscles you trained last time. Tap tired and it trims volume. When the AI is unavailable, a rule-based plan takes over, so you always get a session.
Step 4: do the session
Tap Start. Workout mode takes over the full screen and shows one exercise at a time. Tap "Set 1 done" and a rest countdown begins using the rest time from the plan. The weight and reps steppers remember what you did last time. If a machine is busy, Swap exercise gives you an alternative for the same muscles.
Tap Finish at the end. You get confetti, which is silly, and people tell me they like it anyway.
Step 5: log one meal and one glass of water
Do not try to log everything on day one. Open Food, search "rotli" or "dal", set the portion, tap add. Go back to Today and tap Water once. That is enough to start a streak, and the streak is what gets you back tomorrow.
What to ignore for now
Progress, Report, Plan, measurements, photos, badges: all of it can wait a week. Once you have five or six logged days, the weekly report starts saying something useful. Until then, the only job is to show up and tap Start.
If anything confuses you, the Coach tab answers questions about the app as well as about training. It is not a doctor, and it will tell you so when a question needs one.
Questions people ask
Can I change my goal or days per week after onboarding?
Yes. Open Profile, then Edit profile, and change any answer. Your targets and weekly plan update from the new values.
Do I need internet to use Repyra?
You need internet to sign in, sync, use the AI coach and load the 3D model the first time. The rule-based plan and your existing data work when the connection is poor.
Is the protein target too high for a vegetarian?
It is high compared to a typical Indian diet, but reachable with dal, paneer, curd, soya, sprouts and milk. The AI meal plan in the Food tab builds a day around your diet setting.
