Reminders that help without nagging
Every Repyra reminder explained: water in a window, workout at gym time, meal logging at 9, 13 and 20, Monday weigh-in, the 21:00 nudge. Plus a sample day.

Key takeaways
- Every reminder is conditional: water stops when you hit the target, meal reminders skip if you already logged.
- Workout reminders fire only on your training days, at the gym time you set.
- On iPhone, notifications only work after you add Repyra to the Home Screen.
I hate apps that buzz at me on a schedule whether or not I need it. So every reminder in Repyra has a condition attached, and if the condition is already met, nothing fires. This post lists each one, the condition behind it, and a sample schedule that works for a typical office day.
Turning them on
- Open Profile, then Reminders.
- Tap Enable notifications. Your phone asks for permission; allow it.
- Switch on the reminders you want and set the times.
Two technical limits you should know. Push reminders need the site on HTTPS, which it is when you use the normal address. And on iPhone, notifications only work after you install the app to the Home Screen through Safari's Share menu. Opening the site in a Safari tab is not enough; that is an Apple rule, not ours.
The five reminders
Water
You set a window (say 8:00 to 22:00) and an interval (every 2 hours). The app reminds you to drink inside that window, and stops for the day the moment your water tile reaches the target. If you tap the Water tile on Today five times by 2 pm and hit your goal, the afternoon reminders never come.
Workout
You set your usual gym time. On training days from your plan, you get one reminder at that time. On rest days, nothing. If you already started the session before the time, it also stays quiet.
Meal logging
Three fixed checks at 9:00, 13:00 and 20:00. Each one only fires if nothing has been logged for that meal yet. Logged breakfast at 8:30? The 9:00 check is silent. This is the reminder that does most for the logging part of the weekly score.
Monday weigh-in
One reminder Monday morning at a time you choose. Weekly weight is more useful than daily, and Monday lines up with the weekly report, which uses weight at the start and end of the week.
The 21:00 nudge
At 21:00, if you have not logged anything at all that day, you get a single "still time today" message. One water tap or one food entry keeps your streak and earns the logging points for the day. If you have logged anything, this never fires.
A sample schedule for an office day
Here is what I run myself, for a 10-to-7 job with gym after work:
| Time | Reminder | Fires only if |
|---|---|---|
| 07:30 (Mon) | Weigh-in | It is Monday |
| 09:00 | Meal logging | No breakfast logged |
| 09:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00, 21:00 | Water | Water target not yet reached |
| 13:00 | Meal logging | No lunch logged |
| 19:30 (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat) | Workout | Session not started |
| 20:00 | Meal logging | No dinner logged |
| 21:00 | Still time today | Nothing logged all day |
On a good day I get perhaps three of these. On a day when I am on top of things, the only one that reaches me is the workout reminder, which is how it should be.
How to tune it
- Too many water pings? Widen the interval to 3 hours or narrow the window to your working hours. Hitting the target early also silences them.
- Gym in the morning? Set workout time to 6:30. Reminders respect your plan's training days, so changing days per week in Profile changes which days it fires.
- Night shift? The meal checks are fixed at 9, 13 and 20. If those do not match your day, switch them off and rely on the 21:00 nudge plus the frequent-foods row on the Food tab.
Reminders versus the plan adapting
A reminder you ignore is still data. If you skip the workout reminder on two training days in a row, the plan on Today notices the skipped days and adjusts the next session rather than piling up the missed work. So missing a reminder is not a failure state; the next day's plan already accounts for it.
What reminders do not do
They do not send you marketing, streak-guilt messages or "we miss you" emails. The only notifications Repyra sends are the five above, and each one can be turned off individually. If you turn all of them off, the app stays silent, and your data and score work the same.
Questions people ask
Why am I not getting notifications on my iPhone?
iPhone only allows web app notifications after you install the app to the Home Screen from Safari's Share menu. Install it, open it from the Home Screen, then tap Enable notifications in Profile.
Will the water reminder keep going after I hit my target?
No. Water reminders stop for the day as soon as the water tile on Today reaches your target.
Can I turn off just one reminder?
Yes. Each reminder in Profile, then Reminders, has its own switch and time settings.
